*Orange pad "slides" more easily on the floor than the original blue pad which tends to "grab", being more aggressive - making it a bit harder to move. If you use the mop in a deck brush motion - back and forth you do ok with the original blue pad. If you tend to work in a "swing from side to side" motion while walking backwards you benefit from using the orange pad!
